Lonely desert highways, smoke-filled casinos, late-night diners: these are the expansive canvases on which Los Angeles-based artist Julienne George paints her more intimate emotional landscapes. Her songs are evocative portraits of self-assuredness and doubt, desire and disillusionment, and the tension between longing for love and clinging to freedom.

Built around rich melody and precise, poetic language, George’s songwriting draws on the traditions of the Laurel Canyon era without feeling beholden to the past. Beneath the arrangements are songs built to stand on their own, with an emotional clarity that feels both immediate and enduring.

George’s debut EP, Your Girl, was produced, recorded, and mixed by Sam Cohen (Kevin Morby, Norah Jones, Curtis Harding, Emily King) and co-produced by Greta Morgan (The Hush Sound, Springtime Carnivore, former multi-instrumentalist in Vampire Weekend), who also played keys throughout the record. The finished EP is currently unreleased, and George is seeking aligned management and representation to help bring this first chapter of her recorded work into the world.
